The RTX 5090 is (reportedly) dead: best 32GB alternatives for local LLMs

Treat the discontinuation as a leak. This page repeats only what VideoCardz and Digital Foundry reported, plus AMD’s R9700 spec page and the rows already in this catalog.

What was actually reported

VideoCardz, 10 October 2026, calls this a rumor from the leaker MEGAsizeGPU: future GB202 supply would go to RTX PRO cards, and new GeForce RTX 5090 production would stop. VideoCardz, 10 October 2026 The same article says NVIDIA has not confirmed the plan or given an end-of-production date. It quotes a factory note that also names an RTX 5080 24 GB as the new top GeForce card, and it says MEGAsizeGPU has not confirmed that 24 GB part.

Digital Foundry’s report the same month says the same leak is not confirmed by NVIDIA, and that if the 5090 became unobtainable the top GeForce card would be the RTX 5080 16 GB. A separate rumor, attributed to hongxing2020, is a 24 GB 5080 using 3 GB GDDR7. Digital Foundry Those are leaks. This site does not have an NVIDIA statement that the RTX 5090 is end of life.

The catalog still lists GeForce RTX 5090 32GB at 32 GB, bandwidth 1792 GB/s, bandwidthSourceUrl https://www.nvidia.com/en-eu/geforce/graphics-cards/50-series/. GeForce RTX 5090 32GB: 3123 USD estimate, EUR 2790 incl. VAT. Global prices (USD), EUR available. FX_EUR_USD estimate. Dated 2026-10-14. estimated true. sourceUrl null. Global prices (USD), EUR available. EUR includes VAT. USD is an FX estimate. No shop listing was checked. The catalog summary says 32 GB GDDR7 according to that NVIDIA page, and that it is still too small for 70B Q4.

A 32 GB card with an AMD spec page

AMD’s Radeon AI PRO R9700 page lists 32 GB of GDDR6, a 256-bit bus, 640 GB/s peak memory bandwidth, 64 MB Infinity Cache, 300 W total board power, a 750 W PSU recommendation, and PCIe 5.0 x16. ECC is listed as yes, Linux only. AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 That page is the source for those figures. It is not in this catalog, so there is no catalog price and no tokens/s estimate for it here. It is a 32 GB workstation card, not a second RTX 5090.

What is not a 32 GB alternative

GeForce RTX 3090 24GB is 24 GB in the catalog, not 32 GB. Used card only. 24 GB and a wide bus. One card is not enough for 70B Q4. Bandwidth is listed as 936 GB/s with bandwidthSourceUrl null, so that speed is not a citation. GeForce RTX 3090 24GB: 806 USD estimate, EUR 720 incl. VAT. Global prices (USD), EUR available. FX_EUR_USD estimate. Dated 2026-10-14. estimated true. sourceUrl null. Global prices (USD), EUR available. EUR includes VAT. USD is an FX estimate. No shop listing was checked.

An Intel Arc Pro B70 is not given a memory size, bandwidth, or price here. On 14 October 2026 this page did not retrieve an Intel specification for it. TechPowerUp’s GPU database blocked an automated fetch, so nothing from that database is repeated.

VideoCardz also wrote that street prices had reached a high range. No shop listing was opened for this page, so that range is not used as a price.

Run the catalog, which still includes the 5090 row: Llama 3.3 70B Q4. Hardware catalog.
