Is the RTX 5090 discontinued? NVIDIA says no (October 2026)

No, according to a spoken statement Jeff Fisher gave the press in Taipei on 16 October 2026. That is not an NVIDIA press release. Street supply is still tight.

NVIDIA says it is not discontinued

On 16 October 2026, after the RTX Spark launch event in Taipei, NVIDIA's senior vice president of personal computing, Jeff Fisher, told reporters the GeForce RTX 5090 is not discontinued and that NVIDIA will keep shipping it. He also said supply is somewhat constrained. 4Gamers, 16 October 2026 CNA, 16 October 2026 Both pages are press interviews. This site did not find an NVIDIA press release that says the same thing.

What the leaks said

VideoCardz, 10 October 2026, tags a rumor from the leaker MEGAsizeGPU: future GB202 supply would go to RTX PRO cards, and new GeForce RTX 5090 production would stop. The same piece quotes a factory note that names an RTX 5080 24 GB as the new top GeForce card, and it says MEGAsizeGPU did not back that 24 GB part. The RTX 5080 24 GB stays a rumor. VideoCardz, 10 October 2026.

Digital Foundry, October 2026, repeats that leak. It says that if the 5090 became unobtainable the top GeForce card would be the RTX 5080 16 GB, and it treats a 24 GB 5080 using 3 GB GDDR7, attributed to hongxing2020, as a separate rumour. Digital Foundry, October 2026 Those are leaks.

Tom's Hardware, published 10 October 2026, reports an unverified claim that NVIDIA had stopped selling GB202 processors for consumer RTX 5090 boards, including D variants. It cites a factory note via hongxing2020 and a note from Zed__Wang, and it says the claim is not an official NVIDIA announcement. The same factory note is where the RTX 5080 24 GB rumor appears. Tom's Hardware, 10 October 2026.

VideoCardz, 16 October 2026, says the RTX 5090 disappeared from the selectable models on NVIDIA's US marketplace, while the card stayed on NVIDIA's GeForce product site. The same article says PC Games Hardware reported that NVIDIA was no longer allocating new GB202 processors for the RTX 5090, and that board partners could still build cards from chips already delivered. This site did not open the PC Games Hardware article. Treat the marketplace removal and the allocation report as unconfirmed reports. They are not the statement Fisher gave later the same day. Intel’s Arc Pro B70 specification lists 32 GB of GDDR6, a 256-bit bus, and 608 GB/s of memory bandwidth. ECC is listed as yes. The spec page does not state a euro price, so this catalog does not invent one and does not estimate tokens/s for it. Intel Arc Pro B70 specifications It is not a catalog row.

VideoCardz also wrote that street prices had reached a high range. No shop listing was opened for this page, so that range is not used as a price.
